Note the "2 hours 12 minutes to make transfer". Google Transit is (sucessfully) planning a trip that includes a transfer from a part of one day’s service to a part of the next day’s service.

I was trying to plan a sample commute trip, and instead of picking up the "by 9am Monday" (maybe because I left out the comma after "or" and it didn’t pick up the "or" as a state name) but it instead decided to plan the trip at the current time.
